ANKARA - French National Assembly Foreign Affairs Commission Deputy Chairman Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres visited on Thursday Parliamentary Adjustment Commission Chairman Yasar Yakis.
Speaking in the meeting, Yakis said that the relations between Turkey and France were fine and the governments of the two countries overcame certain small problems which occurred from time to time.
Vabres said in his part that he came to Turkey together with Socialist Party deputy, adding that ''we are here to discuss the common European project.''
Vabres said that they would focus on the things that had to be done to eliminate the factors which threatened world security and to overcome the tensions. Vabres told Yakýs that he wanted to exchange views with him about adoption of the motion on deployment of Turkish soldiers in Iraq.
French Ambassador to Turkey Bernard Garcia also attended the meeting which was later closed to the press.
