BAGHDAD - The US military announced the deaths of five US soldiers on Tuesday, bringing to 13 the number of troops that have died over the past three days.
The latest casualty was killed southwest of Baghdad on Tuesday, when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb, a US military statement said.
Previously, commanders had announced that two soldiers died in separate incidents from wounds received in "enemy action" on Sunday in the western province of Al-Anbar.
The two casualties brought to 10 the number of servicemen to have died as a result of wounds sustained in insurgent attacks on Sunday, with eight of them reported dead in and around Baghdad.
In another incident, a soldier died on Sunday from non-hostile causes, a statement said without offering details.
Another US soldier died after his Humvee utility vehicle rolled into an Iraqi canal.
A statement said a National Guardsman from Nebraska died as a result of injuries sustained a week earlier when the Humvee flipped into water near Camp Anaconda outside Balad, north of Baghdad.
"Two others were injured in the accident (and) are still undergoing treatment for their injuries," it added.
The latest deaths brought the US military's losses in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion to 2,632, according to an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
