Gul: Meetings On Iraq Issue With United States Starts Soon

ANKARA - Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Wednesday that the meetings with the United States on the issue of sending soldiers to Iraq would start soon and added that Foreign Ministry and General Staff Headquarters were discussing details at the moment.
Gul replied questions of reporters following his meeting with foreign mission chiefs.
Gul said that meetings with the United States would start soon.
When asked on which level the meetings would be held, Gul said that there was no need to hurry, adding that General Staff would decide about military issues and Foreign Ministry and General Staff Headquarters started to discuss the issue.
Upon a question whether the region where Turkish soldiers would undertake mission was determined, Gul said that it was not determined and it was related with meetings.
When recalled the news claiming that Paul Bremer, the civilian administrator of the United States in Iraq, could not convince members of Iraqi National Accord on the existence of Turkish soldiers in the region, Gul said that it was their problem.
