Turkish Ambassador In Baghdad Paksut Meets With Allawi

BAGHDAD - Turkish Ambassador in Baghdad Osman Paksut met on Wednesday with Iyad Allawi, the leader of Iraqi National Accord.
Paksut said that they exchanged views on Turkey's sending soldiers to Iraq and the meetings would continue.
Replying questions of reporters, Paksut said, ''we have exchanged views with Allawi on the issue of Turkey's sending soldiers to Iraq. We will meet with them again. The accord will evaluate the issue in the aspects of Iraq's interests, past, present and future of Turkey-Iraq relations and the interest of both countries.''
Noting that Turkish soldiers would stay in Iraq for one year, Paksut said that target of Turkey was not to occupy Iraq. He added that Turkish army would go to Iraq within the scope of friendship and it would be in Iraq to restore security.
Paksut recalled that a group from Iraqi National Accord had come to Turkey and meetings were held on the issue.
