Industrial Production Increases 10.3 Percent

ANKARA - Industrial production increased 10.3 percent in August 2003 when compared with August 2002.
A statement of State Institute of Statistics (SIS) said on Wednesday that industrial production increased 10.3 percent in August of 2003, over to the same month of the previous year from the result of monthly industrial production index.
SIS declared that manufacturing industry production increased by 10.7 percent, mining industry production increased by 4.7 percent, electricity, gas and water production increased by 9.7 percent, in August of 2003, over to the same period of the previous year.
The statement released by SIS said that total industrial production increased by 7.7 percent, and mining industry decreased by 9.7 percent, manufacturing industry increased by 8.5 percent, and electricity, gas and water industry increased by 7.9 percent in eight months of 2003, over to the same period of the previous year.
