ISTANBUL - National Education Minister Huseyin Celik left on Wednesday for the United States to give conference on ''cultural diversity and education in global world.''
Prior to his departure, Celik told reporters that he had attended a conference on cultural diversity and prevention of conflicts organized by the Council of Europe (COE) when he was the Culture Minister.
Celik said that U.S. officials who were in that conference as observer invited him to their country.
The question how members of different religions and cultures could co-exist came onto agenda especially in the United States after September 11th terrorist attacks, Celik stressed.
Celik added, ''how members of different religions, cultures, and languages can co-exist in a democratic platform is on agenda of whole world.''
