DAMASCUS - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul departed from Syria on Tuesday after paying a working visit.
During the visit, Gul was received by Syrian President Bashar al-Asad in Damascus.
They discussed the recent developments in the Middle East and possible deployment of Turkish troops in a peacekeeping force along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
Gul also met Syrian Vice-President Farouk al-Shara and his Syrian counterpart Walid Mualem after his meeting with al-Asad.
Speaking at a joint news conference together with Mualem, Gul said they discussed how the regional peace could be preserved and how stability could be established.
