ISTANBUL - Turkish police intervened in a group waging anti-Israeli demonstration in Gaziosmanpasa district of Istanbul and detained 17 demonstrators, it was reported on Tuesday.
A group of tradesmen in Gazi District shut down their shops to protest Israeli attacks over Lebanon. They also hung Palestinian and Lebanese flags on the windows of their stores.
Meanwhile, police fired tear gas on a group . The group later cut off roads by erecting barriers and threw stones on the police.
Police removed the barriers and dispersed the crowd using teargas and water canons.
