Finance Minister: Meetings With I.M.F. Is Easier Than Previous Ones

ANKARA - Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said on Tuesday that meetings with International Monetary Fund (IMF) were easier than the previous ones.
Unakitan replied to questions of reporters after his meeting with IMF Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam.
When asked whether they reached a consensus on not colecting additional taxes in 2004, Unakitan said that they were continuing to discuss this issue.
Noting that they would make a statement following the meetings, Unakitan said that they were studying now and meetings were easier than the previous ones.
Meanwhile, a finance bureaucrat said that meetings on additional measures were continuing with IMF.
