ISTANBUL - A delegation chaired by Mosul Governor Ghanem al-Basso visited on Monday Individual Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD).
Al-Basso, Acting Governor Ibrahem Saleh, Mosul Chamber of Trade Chairman Tayyib Yunus Sulayman, Dahuk/Kirkuk Chamber of Trade Chairman Hursit Ahmed Selim and Turkish businessmen held a meeting.
Releasing a statement, MUSIAD said that Mosul Governor al-Basso said that security was of great importance for trade and stated that Mosul has reached security and there was need for resettlement of commercial life in the province now.
Mosul Governor said that they were in Turkey to revive commercial relations and stated that citizens of the two countries should make cooperation. He added that Turkish businessmen should act rapidly to make investments in the region.
MUSIAD deputy chairman Omer Bolat said that participation of Turkish companies in activities on reconstruction of Iraq after the war was a historical and commercial necessity.
Bolat said that a desk which was formed under the body of MUSIAD had been working for six months and stated that they are following developments in Iraq with delegations which they sent. Bolat said that they were also giving information to their members by following official talks in Ankara.
Bolat added that they wanted to organize the sixth business tour to Iraq soon.
