40 HECTARES OF LAND DEVASTATED

ISTANBUL - Istanbul Forestry Regional Director Faruk Cebi said on Monday that the fire which started in Burgazada was extinguished.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Cebi said that almost 40 hectares of land was devastated in the fire. Cooling efforts continued, he said.
Istanbul Governor Guler who came to the island said upon questions of journalists asking if a sabotage was in question as the fire started at the same time in three different places, Guler said ''we will investigate that.''
A man died because of heart attack, while 7-8 houses burnt in the fire.
Forest fires also took place in northwestern provinces of Bolu, Balýkesir, Canakkale, Edirne and Tekirdag the same day.
