ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul left for Syria on Tuesday on a working visit.
Replying to questions of reports at Ankara's Esenboga Airport prior to his departure, Gul said, "our government will make a decision on dispatch of Turkish troops to Lebanon after listening to views of the relevant sides during our visits to the regional countries."
Asked how long the decision would take, Gul said, "we are aware that it is an urgent situation. However, we need to assess all developments carefully. We have been working on the issue for a week. We are holding talks with all relevant parties."
