EDIRNE - "We attach great importance to Turkey-Greece natural gas project. We are making a big investment in transfer of natural gas to Italy via Greece," Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler told reporters during his visit to Ipsala border pass in northwestern city of Edirne on Monday. Guler said that 17 kilometers of the natural gas pipeline is passing under the sea. "Construction of underwater pipelines has started yesterday. The pipeline will reach to the land after passing underwater, and then it will be extended to Italy via Greece," Guler noted.
He said that the cost of the project is 140 million USD.
"We will connect the two countries with each other through this project. We will transfer natural gas to Greece in winter," he said.
