ANKARA - The period of the motion on dispatch of soldiers to Iraq is expected to be one year, sources said on Monday.
Diplomatic sources said that a new process would start between Turkey and the United States after a decision on the issue was taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Stating that it was ''obligatory'' for military officials of the two countries to sign a new memorandum of understanding, sources said that the new process would be easier than the first one.
Military officials continue to assess the issue and after that, details like command, the number of Turkish soldiers to be deployed there and the region where the soldiers will be deployed will become definite. Sources said that there was no need for a political document.
Deniz Bolukbasi who chaired the Turkish delegation during the first negotiations with the United States went to the Foreign Ministry on Monday morning and gave information about studies on motion.
