ANKARA - The rate of unemployment became 8.8 percent in May 2006.
In the same period previous year, the rate of unemployment was 9.2 percent.
Turkish Statistical Board (TUIK) made public the results of its "Household Labor Force Survey" for May 2006.
According to the results, labor force participation rate was calculated as 48.6 percent.
Unemployment rate became 11 percent in urban areas and 5.7 percent in rural areas.
