IMF IS OKAY, NO ADDITIONAL MEASURES TO BE TAKEN
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has been conducting the easiest negotiation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) since it has come to power. A consensus has reached with IMF delegation rapidly in the sixth review. No additional measures were demanded in the negotiations while only the extension of the time of quake taxes was brought onto agenda. The officials noted that they could say that the sixth review was completed.

MOTION WEEK
The motion on sending soldiers to Iraq is expected to be discussed in Council of Ministers meeting today and at parliament on Thursday or Friday. Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Sunday that the region where Turkish soldiers would go and the number of soldiers to be deployed would not take place in the motion.

NO NUMBER IN MOTION
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said that there would not probably be an article in the motion on number of soldiers to be sent to Iraq and the region where Turkish soldiers would be deployed. Gul stated that the motion would be debated in the Council of Ministers today. Gul said, ''the Foreign Ministry and military officials will take up details according to the decision. A decision is expected to be taken by the United Nations (U.N.) soon. Turkey will evaluate the situation.''

''WE WILL NOT WAIT FOR U.N. PROCESS''
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended a program broadcast on private Kanal 7 channel. Replying to questions on dispatch of soldiers to Iraq, Erdogan made a call to deputies and said, ''parliament will make its decision thinking of not only the present or the past but also the future.'' Noting that Turkish Armed Forces were successful in abroad missions, Erdogan said, ''provided that parliament gives a positive response, our soldiers will be successful in Iraq.'' Erdogan stressed that they would not wait for the United Nations (U.N.) process.

AGRICULTURE MINISTER GUCLU SAYS FARMERS WHO WILL MAKE REFORMS IN AGRICULTURE WILL BE GIVEN PREMIUM
Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu said that farmers who would make reforms in agriculture would be given premium and stated that they would change payment system of direct income support. Stating that they would make a legal arrangement which provided opportunities for formation of producer units comprised of at least 15 farmers, Guclu said that they would also bring onto agenda agriculture insurance.

TOBB CHAIRMAN HISARCIKLIOGLU SAYS TURKEY SHOULD NOT ALLOW AGAIN AUTHORITY VACUUM IN IRAQ
Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu said that Turkey should not allow again authority vacuum in Iraq. Hisarciklioglu stated that Turkey lost 100 billion U.S. dollars due to authority vacuum in Iraq.

WEEK OF DEMONSTRATION
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and trade unions are getting prepared to give answer to the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government which wants to submit a motion on dispatch of soldiers to Iraq to the parliament. Those who are against war will make press statements in front of AK Party headquarters in Ankara and party branch offices in other provinces on Tuesday. Members of NGOs and trade unions will say ''no to motion'' on Wednesday.

GREAT INTEREST IN TURKISH STAND IN TOURISM FAIR IN YOKOHAMA
People showed great interest in Turkish stand in tourism fair which was held in Yokohama city of Japan. There was an increase in number of people who visited the Jata Tourism Fair, which is one of the biggest fair of Japan, in Pacifico Yokohama this year when compared to the last year. People who visited Turkish stand on 495 square meters were served ice cream of Maras and Turkish tea. Visitors showed great interest in Turkish stand and said that they wanted to go to Turkey.

HERE ARE UNIVERSITIES OF YOK
Share allocated from budget for universities reduced from 3.8 to 2.3 percent in the last 20 years. Number of universities and lecturers has increased. There is need for 6 thousand new lecturers. Universities are not very ''useful.'' Here are results of the survey carried out on higher education by Finance Ministry Budget and Financial Audit Deputy Director General Dr. Ahmet Kesik: Rate of opening schools is 27.4 percent. This rate is 56 percent in Belgium, 46 percent in Germany, 81 percent in the United States, and 52 percent in South Korea. The number of universities increased 3.8 percent, the rise in number of faculties and high schools was 4 percent, the increase in number of students was 4.7 percent and the rise in number of lecturers was 1.6 percent in the last 20 years.

Institute of International Finance Secretary General Charles Dalara said that Turkey's credibility had increased thanks to economic stability and good indicators.

PARLIAMENT WAITS FOR MOTION
Ministers will debate dispatch of soldiers to Iraq today. Survey of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) shows that people don't support the motion. The government will take up dispatch of soldiers to Iraq today and decided to ask for either an authority or permission of the parliament. Motion to be prepared by the Council of Ministers will be brought to Parliament General Assembly on either Tuesday or Wednesday after being debated in AK Party group meeting in parliament.

POLITICAL IMMUNITY OF DEPUTIES TO BE RESTRICTED
The political immunity of deputies will be restricted within parliament activities and simple crimes as it happens in the European Union (EU) member countries. This initiative will be launched within the scope of constitutional amendment studies carried out by Parliamentary Constitution Commission Chairman Burhan Kuzu.

TURKISH WIND IN JAPAN
Turkish stand drew attention in tourism fair which was held in Yokohama city of Japan. Many people attended JATA tourism fair held upon ''2003 Turkey Year in Japan'' in Pacifico Yokohama which is one the biggest tourism fairs of Japan. Many activities promoting Turkey were held and posters of historical and touristic places of Turkey were hung on Turkish stand in the fair.

U.N. EXCLUDES TURKISH SOLDIERS
The government which is about to take a decision on sending soldiers to Iraq will make clear its road map in Council of Ministers meeting today. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that if the process of United Nations was awaited regarding dispatch of soldiers to Iraq, Turkey could be excluded as it was ''a neighbor.'' The motion, which will give authority to government to send soldiers, is expected to be taken up at parliament on Wednesday or Thursday.

TOBB: TALKING ABOUT ELECTIONS HARMS COUNTRY
Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu said that starting a new discussion over the decision of Higher Election Board (YSK) would harm the country. Replying to questions of reporters, Hisarciklioglu said that whether the decision of YSK was legal or political should not be discussed.
