INFLATION RATE UNDER 20 PERCENT
State Institute of Statistics (SIS) announced the rise in wholesale prices as 0.1 percent and in consumer prices as 1.9 percent in September.
A statement of SIS said that the annual inflation was 19.1 percent in wholesale prices index (WPI) and 23.0 percent in consumer prices index (CPI) in September.
The nine-month inflation rate was 10.7 percent in WPI and 13.8 percent in CPI.
Meanwhile, 12-month inflation in wholesale prices was 30.3 percent and 28.4 percent in consumer prices as of September.
Inflation in private manufacturing industry which is named as core inflation became 0.2 percent in September.

THOSE WHO SEND SOLDIERS TO IRAQ SHOULD BE READY FOR LOSS
U.S. Commander Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez said that those who sent soldiers to Iraq should be ready for loss and stated that they would welcome Turkish soldiers there. Sanchez said that the sector where the Turkish soldiers would be deployed depended on their capability and powers.

YSK TO TAKE A CRITICAL DECISION TODAY
Higher Election Board (YSK) will start to assess the applications which were made for cancellation of November 3 elections or cancellation of votes for DEHAP during those elections on Saturday. YSK members had view that ''if we take the decision today, disputes on the issue will end.'' YSK members want to conclude the applications on Saturday. YSK Chairman Tufan Algan said, ''we will probably start to discuss the applications on Saturday. It is not possible to say when the decision will be announced.''

PRIME MINISTER SPIDLA OF CZECH REPUBLIC SAYS CZECH REPUBLIC ACCEPTS IDEA TO ADD PKK-KADEK TO INTERNATIONAL TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS
Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla of Czech Republic said that Czech Republic accepted the idea to add PKK-KADEK to international terrorist organizations. Spidla attended Turkish-Czech Business Council meeting in Istanbul. Spidla and his wife Viktorie Spidla visited Topkapi Palace and the Haghia Sophia.

MEETINGS IN ROME FOR PROGRESS REPORT
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will attend the Intergovernmental Conference in Rome. Erdogan and Gul will also hold meetings in Rome for Progress Report on Turkey which will be announced at the beginning of November. The Intergovernmental Conference will start in Rome on Saturday. Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania will participate in the conference as observers. The main agenda of the conference will be a reference to ''Christian roots'' in the European Union's Constitution.

FEAR OF ELECTION IN BUSINESS WORLD
Business world wanted a decision on holding elections again not to be taken before the meeting of Higher Election Board (YSK) which will be held on Saturday. Turkey Industrialists' and Businessmen' Association (SIAD) Platform which convened in Malatya province said that if Turkey entered an atmosphere of elections again, all positive steps which were taken so far would be harmed.

FOREIGN MINISTER GUL SAYS THEY WOULD CALL FOR AUTHORITY FROM PARLIAMENT NEXT WEEK
Government is in an effort to overcome the difficulty, which it had experienced after military showed reaction to the 8.5 billion U.S. dollars loan having condition of north of Iraq, with postponing formula.
Council of Ministers postponed approval of loan agreement after discussions on motion.
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said they would get authority from Parliament next week and that they would continue talks with the United States being further strengthened.

IMF BOTH WARNS AND PRAISES
International Monetary Fund (IMF) Turkey Desk Chief Reza Moghadam said decrease in interest rates was successful, stating that financial discipline should be preserved in determination.
Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said 6th Review would be completed in time, and noted that there was no problem on the issue.
Moghadam said decrease in interest rates and inflation was success of the government, yet stated that reforms in financial discipline and structural reforms should be carried out in determination.

MOTION TO BE DISCUSSED IN PARLIAMENT ON TUESDAY
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Founders Members Board discussed dispatch of soldiers to Iraq.
Government warned the group that the motion would be brought onto the agenda of the parliament on Tuesday. However whether or not ''authority'' or ''permission'' would be asked has not become definite yet.

DENKTAS: I CAN VETO ELECTIONS
President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) said he would use his right of veto in case opposition wins December elections.
Denktas said otherwise he would withdraw and continue fighting together with his people.

CZECH SUPPORT TO TURKEY FOR EU
Prime Minister Vladimir Spidla of Czech Republic said Czech Republic accepted the idea to add PKK-KADEK to international terrorist organizations.
Holding a press conference after Turkish-Czech Business Council meeting, Spidla said that his meetings in Turkey were held in a very friendly and positive atmosphere.
Spidla also said he was sure that Turkey would be a member of the European Union (EU) after meeting Copenhagen Criteria.

GOVERNMENT TO CALL FOR PERMISSION NOT AUTHORITY
Government, which has the concerns of meeting with the veto of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, will overcome the ''veto'' obstacle in case it gets permission from the Parliament.

EARTHQUAKES SHAKE ESKISEHIR
Two earthquakes, measuring 4.2 and 2.8 on the Richter scale, shook Eskisehir province.
Citizens of Eskisehir passed the night outside their homes despite the cold weather.

CRITICAL DAY
Higher Election Board (YSK) Chairman Tufan Algan said they would probably start discussing applications for cancellation of November 3 elections on Saturday.
Algan told reporters that a decision would be made in the end of their discussions.
It was not possible to predict when the decision would be announced, Algan said.
Algan added that they would announce their decision after they had made it.

TERRITORIES OF IRAQ, WHO CAN NOT GET RID OF CHAOS, ARE SOLD IN PIECES
Regional countries purchase territories of Iraq, who fights against instability brought by U.S. occupation.
Israeli people buy territories of the country in the north, and Kuwaitis are interested in Basra region, which is near the border. Iranians are interested in the central parts of the country belonging to Shiites.
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul brought the issue onto the agenda in the closed session of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group meeting.
Gul said, ''we can not remain indifferent to this. We think that it would cause very serious dangers if we fail to be there.''
