ANKARA - The Turkish government has sent 21 truckloads of humanitarian aid to Syria to be conveyed to Lebanon and Lebanese refugees who took shelter in Syria after fleeing from clashes in Lebanon.
The Prime Ministry DG of Emergency said on Monday that the aid was worth of 1.2 million USD and sent in an effort to heal the wounds of Lebanese people.
Those trucks, which left Turkey on August 7th, arrived in Syria today. While 65.5 tones of humanitarian aid will be distributed to Lebanese refugees in Syria, the remaining 448.41 tones will be shipped to Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Turkey is getting ready to send 16 more truckloads of aid to Lebanon in the coming days, officials said.
