Two resort areas in the Izmir region, Cesme Alacati and Pasalimani, are scheduled to go to tender on Tuesday under Türkiye's Tourism Cities project, according to officials from the Culture and Tourism Ministry's Investments Department.
The resorts, located roughly 80 kilometers from Izmir and 90 kilometers from Adnan Menderes Airport, will be leased for 75 years, the first time such an allocation has extended beyond the standard 49-year term.
Planned facilities include golf courses, accommodations, a thermal village, health and treatment centers, boutique hotels, social amenities, and congress centers.
Entrepreneurs from Russia, Spain, and Japan have expressed interest following promotional efforts in multiple countries. Ministry officials said the project is expected to create 40,000 new jobs in the tourism sector and aims to establish Türkiye as a premier travel destination.
