ANKARA - The Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) applied on Friday to the Higher Election Board (YSK) for rejection of the applications demanding cancellation of November 3 elections and re-estimation of election threshold and for a right to defense itself if the applications were not rejected.
DEHAP's lawyers Ismail Aslan and Mahmut Tanzi presented the petition of DEHAP leader Tuncer Bakirhan to YSK.
Aslan told reporters that applications for cancellation of November 3 elections concerned the legal bodies of party and they wanted the rejection of the applications.
They wanted DEHAP to be given a right to defense in case YSK decided that applications should be discussed regarding the merits of the case, Aslan added.
