TEHRAN - The 3rd Tehran International Industry Fair, in which 101 Turkish firms attended, was opened on Thursday.
State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and Iranian Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariat-Madari opened Turkish stand together.
Making a speech in the opening of stand, Tuzmen said that he was proud of Turkey's ranking the first among 35 countries in the aspects of number of participant firms, area and variety of production. He added, ''Turkish products take part in these markets with its quality. The quality of Turkish products has reached the power of competition with the products of developed countries. The situation in the fair is the most concrete evidence of this.''
Tuzmen said, ''I believe that the export amount of Turkey to Iran will reach higher figures in coming period.''
More than 300 Turkish businessmen attended the fair.
Some officials of Turkish companies told A.A correspondent that they aimed to find representative companies in Iran for their firms and to put their goods on Iranian market.
Businessmen said that there were many Turkish consumption goods in Iranian markets, but most of them were brought to Iran illegally.
Some part of Turkish consumption goods in Iran are sent to Armenia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The most participation after Turkey was made by Germany in the fair which will last until October 6.
