IZMIR - Exports from Aegean region increased 39 percent and reached two billion 783 thousand dollars in the first nine months of 2003.
According to figures of Aegean Exporters' Association (EIB), the region exported textile worth of 690 million 244 thousand dollars, iron and non-iron of 460 million 596 dollars, tobacco of 311 million 648 thousand dollars and metal of 202 million 940 thousand dollars in the first nine months of 2003.
The highest increase in export was recorded in olive and olive oil with an increase of 333 percent and worth of 121 million 36 thousand dollars in 2003.
Export amount of September rose 13 percent and reached 321 million 331 thousand dollars in 2003 when compared with the same month of 2002.
