ISTANBUL - Turkish Competition Board approved the accord regarding the sale of 75 percent of Denizbank's shares to Dexia SA/NV, sources said on Thursday.
According to a written statement sent by Denizbank Company to Istanbul Stock Exchange, the Board approved the transaction. ''Competition boards in Austria and Germany also authorized the taking over,'' the statement indicated.
''On the other hand, Russian Federation CB stated that the taking over in question does not require any pre-authorization, whereas Bahrain Banking Institution --in a written statement-- remarked that it did not have any objection to the taking over,'' Denizbank said.
