ANKARA - Mustafa Balci, who claimed that he was a ``mehdi`` (savior) and was detained in front of General Staff Headquarters, was arrested on Wednesday.
Police, on Tuesday, detained Balci on suspicion that he would attempt to commit a criminal offence in front of the General Staff Headquarters in Ankara, and found out he was carrying a hand-gun and two rifles.
Following his controls at hospital on suspicion that he was mentally ill, Balci was arrested on charges of violation of law on fire-arms and knives, and sent to prison.
In his interrogation yesterday, Balci said that he came from Gebze (town of Istanbul) and claimed that he was ``mehdi``.
