ISTANBUL - Police confiscated 302.2 kilograms of heroin in two separate operations against drug trafficking, Istanbul Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah said on Wednesday.
``13 people were taken into police custody,`` Cerrah told a press conference.
Cerrah said 135 kg heroin was confiscated in an operation against those who were involved in drug trafficking, and 10 people were detained.
Cerrah noted that 167.2 kg heroin was seized in the house of 3 people who were earlier detained.
The Police Chief indicated that 8 kg heroin, 37 gr. cocaine and 7 kg opium, 9,112 illicit drugs were seized in 54 operations against the street dealers in the past 10 days.
