SOFIA - Turkish Mapa-Cengiz consortium has won a 137.4 million Euro (176.5 million USD) deal to build a 19-kilometer highway in Bulgaria.
Veselin Georgiev, head of Bulgaria`s road agency, said that Lulin highway will connect Sofia`s belt line to Daskalovo town.
Georgiev noted that 26 bridges and viaducts will be built on Lulin Highway.
The project will start in October and should be completed in three years, Georgiev said. It will be funded by EU pre-accession funds and the state budget.
The Turkish group was chosen among 21 bidders to build a 19-kilometer highway that would provide a quicker drive from the north-western border with Romania and Serbia to Greece in the south, said Georgiev.
