ANKARA - The United States said on Thursday that U.S. companies worked in cooperation in transfer of electronic war systems which will increase Turkey's defense capacity and added that there was no unequal treatment towards Turkey in sale of those systems.
A statement of the U.S. Embassy in Ankara said that some press organs issued news that the United States prevented sale of SPEWS electronic defense system required for Turkey's F-16 program.
The statement noted that the news was inaccurate and said that the United States was proud of its long-term cooperation with Turkey in F-16 program.
Turkey had the right to buy SPEWS parts and technologies as other NATO members, the statement said.
The statement added that claims that there was unequal treatment towards Turkey in sale of those systems were baseless.
