ANKARA - Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Liberal Democrat Party (LDP) applied on Wednesday to the Higher Election Board (YSK) for cancellation of November 3 elections after the Supreme Court of Appeals' approval of sentence given to four former party administrators of DEHAP.
MHP secretary general Faruk Bal and deputy leader Ercument Konukman submitted their application to the YSK.
Bal said that they wanted November 3 general elections to be cancelled or held again.
LDP deputy leader Mucahit Ozdamar said that they did not agree with the view which said that cancellation of elections would cause chaos in the country and added that the parliament lost its legitimacy after the Supreme Court of Appeals announced its decision.
