National Education Minister Celik Says Terrorism Can't Be Correlated With Religion, Culture, Geography And Race

PARIS - National Education Minister Huseyin Celik said on Wednesday that terrorism could not be correlated with a special religion, culture, geography and race.
Celik delivered a speech in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Assembly in Paris.
National Education Minister Celik said, ''Turkey harshly condemns every kind of terrorism irrespective of its source and purpose and believes that international cooperation is very important in fight against terrorism.''
Touching on preservation of cultural heritage in Iraq, Celik said that Turkey closely followed initiatives launched by UNESCO to preserve the cultural heritage.
Celik said that UNESCO had to take more efficient measures to preserve rich cultural heritage in Iraq and noted, ''as a neighbor country, Turkey hopes settlement of stability in Iraq as soon as possible.''
Turkey extended full support to ''information society'' program launched by UNESCO, Celik stated.
Celik said that Turkey believed in importance of dialogue in settling peace and having real cooperation and drew attention to the international conference on dialogue among civilizations held in Istanbul last February to that end.
