Foundation Of Two Hospitals, Which Turkey Will Construct In Iraq, To Be Laid In October

ANKARA - Foundations of two hospitals, which Turkey would construct in Iraq, will be laid in October.
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) parliamentarian Turhan Comez met with Iraqi Health Ministry Consultant Said Ismail Hakki and an accompanying delegation and exchanged views about the hospitals planned to be constructed in Baghdad and Kirkuk.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Comez said procedures about the hospitals were completed, and that foundation of the hospitals would be laid in October.
Comez said the hospitals, which would have 50 bed capacity for each, and which would be constructed in Baghdad and Kirkuk, would cost four million U.S. dollars, and that medical equipment would be provided to hospitals afterwards.
Comez said Turkey would finance all the costs of the hospitals, stating that, ''medical equipment in depots of health ministry would be used.''
Stating that Turkey was planning to implement several projects in social fields as well as services in health in restoration of Iraq, Comez said Iraqi Governing Council have some demands from Turkey. Comez stressed the demand for restoration of sacred places.
Comez said Iraq requested restoration of Imam-i Azam Shrine, which is important for Sunnis in Baghdad, and noted that Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul gave necessary directives in this respect.
Comez said Iraqi administrators called on Turkish tourism agencies to bring tourists to Iraq.
Comez said social organizations toward Iraq would continue, and different projects would be put into practice.
