ANKARA - State Minister Ali Babacan said on Monday that Turkey and the United States showed the best examples of alliance all around the world; from Korea to Somalia and from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Afghanistan, in the process of peace keeping and fighting against global terrorism.
Delivering a speech at a luncheon of Turkish-American Business Council at Ankara's Sheraton Hotel, Babacan said that relations between Turkey and the United States improved in every aspect after Turkey's membership to the NATO.
Babacan stressed that there was a very big potential in terms of economic and commercial relations between the two countries.
He underlined that Turkey, with its geographic stance at the juncture of energy cross roads, was eager to finalize Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline project.
Babacan said that they expected significant foreign direct investment (FDI) flow from the United States with stronger and macroeconomic stability.
Recalling that Turkey and the United States signed a financial agreement in Dubai last week, he said that this agreement would support Turkey's ongoing reform process. He added that it also confirmed that the partnership between the two countries would not be limited to political and military fronts.
