ANKARA - Turkey's current account deficit rose 14.8 percent to 2.5 billion USD in June 2006 over the same month of 2005.
Turkish Central Bank released on Monday its report about balance of payments developments for June 2006.
According to the bank's statistics, foreign trade deficit increased 4.2 percent to 3.1 billion USD while net tourism incomes reduced 1 percent to 1.2 billion USD in June.
On the other hand, current account deficit rose 41.4 percent from 13.1 billion USD in the January-June period of 2005 to 18.6 billion USD in the same period 2006.
