SIDON - At least 14 civilians were killed Monday when Israeli air strikes hit buildings in Ghaziye, east of Sidon in southern Lebanon, police said.
"Fourteen civilians, including women and children, were killed during their strikes and their bodies were extracted from under the rubble of three buildings and a villa," police said.
Lebanese civil defence officials said they had made contact with survivors trapped beneath the rubble.
An earlier toll had said that eight people had been killed.
