BURSA - ''Nearly half of total automotive exports in the first 7 months of 2006 was destined to Italy, Germany, France and Britain'', Uludag Exporters' Association (UIB) stated on Friday.
According to figures of UIB, Turkish car industry exported its products to 163 countries and 13 free zones in 5 continents, in the January-July period of 2006. The total value of exports was 8.6 billion USD. 71.9 p.c. of this (6.2 billion USD) was shipped to EU countries.
The exporters earned 4.2 billion USD from exports to Italy, Germany, France and Britain.
On the other hand, the car manufacturers exported products worth of 325.7 million USD to Romania and Bulgaria (EU candidate countries) in January-July period of 2006.
