ANKARA - Aid convoy of 18 trucks of the Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Red Crescent) has left Ankara for Lebanon today.
''The whole world witnesses the pain, suffered in the Middle East. We can not praise the weak global attention on the developments in the region,'' said Tekin Kucukali, chairman of the Red Crescent, on Thursday.
Kucukali remarked that the number of displaced individuals due to Israel's attacks is around one million. ''War takes place between soldiers. What is taking place is not a war...it is a sudden attack that is killing civilians,'' told Kucukali.
Kucukali stressed that, out of the 18 trucks, 13 will go to the Lebanese Red Cross and the other 5 to Syrian Red Crescent. ''Among the aid materials are baby food, diapers, medicine, flour, tea, sugar and mattresses,'' noted Kucukali.
