PARIS - Labor and Social Security Minister Murat Basesgioglu, who is currently in Paris for labor ministers meeting of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), met on Sunday with representatives of Turkish Associations in France.
Basesgioglu listened to representatives of Turkish Workers' Associations and received information about their problems in a meeting in Turkey's Culture and Tourism Consultancy in Paris.
Turkish workers explained their problems on retirement right, military service and bank services to Basesgioglu.
Basesgioglu informed Turkish workers about reforms, foreign, internal and economic developments in Turkey in the meeting.
Stating that Turkey came to a historical point in its relations with the European Union (EU), he said that there were very important reforms in Turkey.
He noted that macroeconomic balances were going well in Turkey and stated that the biggest problem was external debt.
When asked whether or not necessary arrangements would be made for Turkish people who worked in foreign countries to vote for elections in Turkey in the countries they lived, Basesgioglu said that European countries had different regulations on the issue and stated that the government was monitoring developments about it.
Basesgioglu will attend labor ministers meeting of OECD in Paris which will start on Monday.
