ANKARA - Acting Speaker of Turkish Parliament Ali Dincer on Wednesday received 45 Pakistani students who were invited to Turkey in the wake of the devastating earthquake in this country.
Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Red Crescent) invited 160 Pakistani students to Turkey for psycho-social support after the earthquake jolted Pakistan last year.
Dincer said Turkey tried to share the sorrows of Pakistan after the quake, and noted that it was Pakistan which had expended the biggest support to Turkey in the Turkish War of Independence.
Speaking to the students, Dincer said, ''you will contribute to Pakistan, humanity and the world by working hard. We hope to see you as the intellectuals of Pakistan in the future.''
Muzaffer Komit, secretary general of the Turkish Red Crescent, stated that they shipped the Turkish people's assistance to Pakistani people after the quake.
Komit said, ''we have constructed houses and set up rehabilitation centers in Pakistan.''
The students will stay in Turkey for 8 days and visit historical and touristic attractions.
