ANKARA - ``The statements of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who said Turkish soldiers may assume a role in Lebanon upon a request of the United States, are very unfortunate. This showed how much we are right about our concerns,`` Devlet Bahceli, leader of Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), indicated on Tuesday.
Bahceli, in a written statement, said that the military attacks of Israel on Palestine and Lebanon caused a clash and crisis climate with dangerous results. ``Israel, defying international community, kills innocent civilians by violating fundamental principles and rules of war law``, he added.
Noting that it will not be appropriate to send Turkish troops in Lebanon until conditions have become clearer, Bahceli said that recent statements of Premier Erdogan about this issue were very unfortunate.
