DIYARBAKIR - A movement named ``The Initiative to Keep Hasankeyf Alive`` is actually conducting a campaign to stop Ilisu Dam Project.
The committee including executives from southeastern cities of Diyarbakir and Batman, as well as members of some NGOs prepared 2,000 T-shirts reading ``Don`t Touch My Hasankeyf`` and ``No To Ilisu Dam``. Activists will wear these T-shirts in a demonstration to be held in Hasankeyf town in Batman on August 4th.
Caglayan Ayhan, one of the spokesmen of the movement, said that Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to assist a foundation laying ceremony for the Ilisu Dam --which eventually would flood Hasankeyf-- in Mardin (on August 5th).
Ayhan noted that tents would be erected in Hasankeyf on August 4th, stating that musicians would come to the town to perform in these tents.
