ANKARA - Exports by Turkey were up 25,6 percent to 7.5 billion USD while imports rose 18,6 percent to 11.7 billion USD in June 2006.
Turkish Board of Statistics (TUIK) made public foreign trade figures in June and in the January-June period, today.
Foreign trade deficit increased 7,9 percent going up from 3.9 billion USD to 4.2 billion USD, but the ratio of exports meeting imports accrued, going from 60,7 percent to 64,3 percent in June.
In January-June period, exports were up 11,5 percent to 39.4 billion USD, and imports climbed 18,3 percent to 65.1 billion USD.
Foreign trade deficit increased 30,6 percent going up from 19.7 billion USD to 25.7 billion USD, and the ratio of exports meeting imports was recorded as 60,5 percent in the first half of the year.
