ANKARA - Turkish Land Forces Commander Gen. Yasar Buyukanit was appointed new chief of the General Staff on Monday.
President Ahmet Necdet Sezer signed into law a Council of Ministers decree appointing Gen. Buyukanit the new chief of General Staff, as of August 30th, 2006.
