Naval Forces Command Vice Admiral Ornek Confers Spanish Naval Forces Commander With Medal Of Merit Of Turkish Armed Forces

ANKARA - Naval Forces Commander Vice Admiral Ozden Ornek on Thursday conferred Spanish Naval Forces Commander Vice Admiral Francisco Jose Torrente Sanchez with medal of merit of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).
Vice Admiral Ornek said important contributions of Turkey and Spain to regional and global security for years created close and indispensable ties between naval forces of the two countries.
Ornek said medal of merit was conferred to Sanchez for his efforts to contribute to further development of strong relations.
Vice Admiral Ornek said, ''I am pleased to state that Turkish ports will always be open for Spanish warships as it had been before.''
Spanish Vice Admiral Sanchez in his part said he felt honor to get medal of merit, stating that Spain also attributed importance to relations between the two countries.
Vice Admiral Sancez will depart from Turkey on September 27.
