IZMIR - French Ambassador to Turkey Bernard Garcia said on Thursday that there would be more intensive talks between Turkey and the European Union (EU) as of 2005.
Garcia who addressed the opening of ''French Business Development Day'' organized by the Aegean Free Zone Management Inc. (ESBAS) said that Turkish press showed dramatically the decisions which were taken after the Copenhagen Summit and wrote some news stories as if the EU did not want Turkey and stated that however French press wrote that Europe accepted Turkey.
Stating that Turkish parliamentarians worked very hard on adjustment laws to the EU and European people saw it, Garcia said that those studies brought Turkey closer to the Union. Garcia added that there would be more intensive talks between Turkey and EU as of 2005.
Garcia said that bilateral relations between Turkey and France were going very well and stated that French companies trusted in Turkey and they showed great interest to this country.
ESBAS executive board chairman Kaya Tuncer said that the decision of not amending the Free Zones Law till Turkey joined the EU paved the way for free zones and stated that they believed that there would be more investments in free zones from now on.
ESBAS signed a protocol with global business development web Futurallia. According to the protocol, representatives of 10,000 companies in the world would come together in Turkey.
