MOSCOW - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc visited the grave of world-famous Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet in Russian capital of Moscow on Wednesday.
In the Novodevice Cemetery, Arinc recalled that Nazim Hikmet wanted to be buried under a plane tree in a village cemetery in Anatolia.
''I sincerely want this testament to be fulfilled. Nazim Hikmet should be admitted as a Turkish citizen again if necessary,'' he said.
Arinc earlier met Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Dmitriyevich Zhukov.
Nazim Hikmet is known around the world as one of the greatest international poets of the twentieth century, and his poetry has been translated into more than fifty languages. He wrote many poems, plays, novels, and stories.
