Gul Tells To His Iranian Counterpart: Your Cooperation With Atomic Energy Agency Is Important

NEW YORK - Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said on Wednesday that cooperation of Iran with International Atomic Energy Agency was important.
Foreign Minister Gul, currently in New York to attend U.N.'s 58th General Assembly meetings, met his Iranian counterpart Kamal Kharrazi.
Gul and Kharrazi decided to continue to exchange views on Iraq, and also discussed Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) that would take place in Malaysia on October 13.
When the Iranian side mentioned nuclear cooperation, Foreign Minister Gul told his Iranian counterpart that cooperation of Iran with International Atomic Energy Agency and transparency on this issue were important.
Iranian Foreign Minister said their studies on nuclear energy were only for civilian aims.
Gul also met with Foreign Minister of Singapore Jaya Kumar. Gul said Turkish businessmen were interested in economic development in this country.
The two ministers also reached consensus that there was potential for joint venture particularly in the Middle East.
Gul also met foreign ministers of Lebanon, Poland, and Sudan on the third day of the meetings.
