MOSCOW - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc met Sergei Mironov, speaker of the Russian Federation Council, the upper chamber of the Russian parliament, in Moscow on Tuesday.
Holding a joint news conference following his meeting with Arinc, Mironov said that Turkish-Russian relations gained momentum with the visits of Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Russia.
Mironov noted that they had decided to sign a cooperation protocol between the two countries.
On the other hand, Arinc offered his condolences over the plane crash which happened at Irkutsk Airport a few days ago.
''We have agreed to put into practice the multilateral cooperation between our two countries. This cooperation protocol will be beneficial for solution of regional problems and contribute to global peace,'' Arinc said.
