ANKARA - ''Turkish Eximbank extended loans of 3.8 billion USD, including 1.8 billion USD of export loan and 2 billion USD of insurance, to support exporters in the first half of 2006'' Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said.
Tuzmen received Lars V. Kolte, president of Berne Union --International Union of Credit & Investment Insurers, in Ankara on Tuesday.
Tuzmen told reporters that Berne Union represents 52 companies from 41 countries, and controls a transaction volume of 800 billion USD.
Noting that Turkish Eximbank has been included in Berne Union since 1994, Tuzmen said that the Union had a transaction volume of nearly 32 billion USD in Turkey, last year.
He added that 70 percent of loans of Eximbank is destined to small and medium scale enterprises.
