BRUSSELS - A detailed screening started between the EU and Turkey on the 16th chapter heading ''Taxation''. The meetings in Brussels are expected to last for two days.
Avoidance of double-taxation, taxation of capital and stock earnings, corporation tax, income tax, value-added tax (VAT), taxation of tobacco & alcoholic beverages and taxation in the energy sector are among the topics to be discussed at the meetings.
Turkey has completed informative screening meetings on 28 chapter headings and detailed screening meetings on 22 chapter headings so far.
The detailed screening process will continue on the chapter heading ''Information Society and Media'' between July 13th and 14th.
