ISTANBUL - Labor and Social Security Minister Murat Basesgioglu went to Italy on Wednesday as the official guest of Italian Minister of Labor and Welfare Roberto Maroni.
Basesgioglu told reporters prior to his departure that after his meeting in Luca city, he would proceed to Paris to attend labor minister meeting of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Basesgioglu recalled that they had reached consensus with Maroni during his Turkey visit on signing a bilateral social security agreement between the two countries. He said that the expert group which was formed within this scope had started working and this process would continue.
Noting that he would make a speech in the meeting in Luca, Basesgioglu said that he would give information about the fight against child labour in Turkey according to International Labor Organization norms.
Basesgioglu said that the European Union's (EU) fight against sexual exploitation of children in and out of family and fight against child labour in EU would also be brought onto agenda in the meeting.
Noting that he would then proceed to Paris to attend labor minister meeting of OECD between September 29 and 30, Basesgioglu said that they would discuss drawing inactive labor force into working life, recent innovations in public employment services and increasing employment opportunities for the groups under danger and their quality.
Basesgioglu said that he would give information regarding employment issues in Turkey and the restructuring of Turkish Labor Association and he added that he would have a meeting with Turkish citizens who had been living in France.
Basesgioglu will return to Turkey on October 1.
