JUSTICE OF ORGANIZATION
Eylem Goktas, who was arrested on charges of aiding and abetting illegal DHKP-C organization, was left defenseless by her lawyers when she gave up death fasting.
Human Rights Association Istanbul Department Chairperson Kiraz Bicici reacted that Goktas was left defenseless.
Bicici said there were many people who were left defenseless as they gave up death fasting or departed from the organization.
Bicici said lawyers can not leave their clients defenseless apart from ethical reasons, stating that, ''although lawyer of Goktas put forward some other reasons, the indications show that it is related with Goktas's giving up death fasting.''

THEY PUT IRAQ CONDITION ON 8.5 BILLION U.S. DOLLARS LOAN
Agreement pertaining to 8.5 billion U.S. dollars loan which the United States would give to Turkey, was signed in Dubai on Monday.
According to the agreement, the loan which will be used in repayment of domestic and external debts of Turkey will not be repaid for 4 years and its maturity will be 10 years.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Snow said the loan did not have any links with dispatch of soldiers to Iraq. However, the agreement included the expression, ''cooperation on Iraq is a condition''.

AUTHORIZATION TO TURKS
According to the agreement, which had been shelved after Parliament rejected the motion on March 1, Turkish Army was to cover all the developments in Eastern Mediterranean and north of Iraq.
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) also included in the official document.
-Turkish Armed Forces would have had the authorization to put an end to operations that would be made from the bases.
-Turkish commander was to be informed from the attacks of Tomahawk missiles.
-Traffic flow of Eastern Mediterranean was to be carried out by TRNC's Ercan Airport.
-Turkish Naval Forces was to carry out search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean.
-U.S. side had to inform about the troops, that would be deployed in Turkey before 15 days.
-Entrance of U.S. aircraft carrier to Turkish territories would have been reported to Turkey.
-Information was not to be shared with the third countries and groups in north of Iraq.
-Turkish troops in north of Iraq was to be connected to Turkish commander.

Volleyball Women National Team defeated its rival Russia 3-0 in European Championship. Russia had been a world champion and champion of Olympiad.
The Turkish team, who had beaten Romania, Serbia, and Russia, will take on Slovakia on Wednesday.

THY TO RESUME FLIGHTS TO INDIA AFTER 11 YEARS
The flights of Turkish Airlines (THY) from Istanbul to New Delhi will start on September 29.
THY held a ''THY Night'' at Sheraton Hotel to promote New Delhi flights.
Turkey's New Delhi Ambassador Hasan Gogus said that he was pleased with THY's flights to New Delhi.
Noting that Turkey and India had decided to develop commercial and touristic relations during the visit of Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to Turkey last week, Gogus said that THY's flights to New Delhi would have great contribution to reach those goals.
THY Executive Board member Hamdi Topcu said that they would start NEW Delhi flights again after 11 years and added that commercial and cultural relations between Turkey and India would be refreshed.

IRAQ CONDITION TO LOAN
State Minister Ali Babacan and U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow signed the agreement granting 8.5 billion U.S. dollars of loan to Turkey in Dubai on Monday. The loan which is foreseen to be used in four equal tranches in 18 months was depended on two conditions. One of those conditions is that Turkey will have to follow sound economic policies and the other is that Turkey will be in cooperation on Iraq issue with the United States.

TURKISH AIRLINES FLY TO INDIA
Turkish Airlines (THY) will resume on September 29 its Istanbul-New Delhi flights after 11 years. THY organized a tour to promote its New Delhi flights to bureaucrats, deputies and reporters. THY also held a ''THY Night'' at Sheraton Hotel in New Delhi.

MORALE DAY IN DUBAI
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Horst Koehler. Erdogan said that Koehler confirmed Turkey's success in implementation of economic program and stated that there would not be populism in the implementation of economic program. Erdogan met with Koehler and accompanying IMF delegation in Dubai, where he attended IMF-World Bank annual meetings. Agreement on the 8.5 billion U.S. dollars of loan was also signed between Turkey and the United States. Increase in markets continued. The Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) National-100 Index closed Monday's second session with 13,845.02.

TURKISH LIAISON TEAM COMES TO BAGHDAD
Turkish liaison team which was sent to coordinate between Turkish and U.S. units serving in the north of Iraq came to Baghdad on Monday. Turkish liaison team comprised of two officers and two non-commissioned officers started its mission in the highest level U.S. headquarters in Baghdad. The team was sent to the region to provide flow of information between Turkish and U.S. military units to prevent any incident similar to the one that happened in Sulaymaniyah.

COST OF TURKEY TO EU IS 14 BILLION EURO
As there were several weeks for the announcement of European Union Commission's progress report on Turkey, it was claimed that cost of Ankara to Brussels is around 14 billion Euro annually.
Officials of the commission stated that it was early to make such accounts, and noted that it would be a speculative effort to speak about the cost of candidate countries which did not start full membership negotiations.
According to estimations of Eastern Europe Institute, based in Munich, cost of Turkey's possible membership to the Union is equal to the cost of 10 countries which would be members of the Union on May, 2004.

IMF MANAGING DIRECTOR KOEHLER: I SEE THE STABILITY IN TURKEY WHICH BROUGHT GERMANY TO SUCCESS
Expected meeting between Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Horst Koehler was held on Monday morning.
Replying questions of reporters after the meeting which lasted for 40 minutes, Erdogan said Koehler showed Turkey as example to Argentine journalists and reiterated the success which Turkey gained in the program.
Erdogan said their meeting was positive, stating that Koehler recalled that Germany recorded success after second World War with consistency, continuity, and stability.
